In this article, we will show you how to Manage Courses in DISH POS Backoffice.

Properly structuring courses ensures that items flow smoothly from your POS terminal to preparation stations and kitchen display systems. DISH POS Backoffice gives you complete control over course ordering, staff permissions, and ticket labeling. Here is a step-by-step guide to configuring and managing courses for your establishment.

14 STEPS

1. From the main DISH POS Backoffice homepage, click on Settings in the left navigation menu to begin managing your workstation course settings.

2. Under the expanded Settings menu, select Courses to view your list of active course categories and their workstation display orders.

3. Use the Search bar at the top of the Courses page to quickly locate specific course categories within your system.

4. Click the orange Create new course button in the top right corner to configure a new course entry.

5. In the Name field, enter the primary name for your course, for example, "Cake", which will represent this grouping on your system.

6. Toggle the Allow changing of course in POS app switch if you want your staff to have the flexibility to reassign a product's course directly from the POS interface during ordering.

7. Toggle the Print different text on production ticket switch if you need kitchen or station tickets to display a different label than what is shown on the POS app.

8. In the Course on Production Ticket field, type the exact text label you wish to appear on printed kitchen or preparation tickets (example "Dessert").

9. Click the orange Create button in the lower-right corner of the modal window to save your new course configuration.

10. Scroll down to your updated course list to view the newly created course and identify the drag handles (drag_indicator) next to each entry.

11. Click and hold the drag handle next to a course, then drag it up or down to set its priority order for workstation display.

11b. Drop

12. Release the mouse button to drop the course into its new target position in the list hierarchy. Click directly on a course's Name field or click Edit on the right side to adjust display names or details inline.
